Rajasthan –‘Pre-Wedding Shoots’ are made of this

Pre-wedding photography has slowly and gradually become a prerequisite among those who want to celebrate their union.Unlike the ‘standard’ wedding events where it is all rather predictable,a pre-wedding photo shootaffords the couple a chance to pose in exotic locations for the most candid of clicks. And when it comes to locations for pre-wedding shoots, Rajasthan has no equal.

  • Sambhar

    Sambhar

India’s largest inland salt lake, Sambhar Lake is just 50 km from Jaipur. This white expanse of this inland salt lake provides a perfect backdrop for a wedding shoot; not only will the colour stand – contrasting with the white of the lake – the absence of any manmade structure nearby can help create some dazzling and surreal shots. If you are lucky, large flocks of flamingos that are found here can add a pinch of pink to the background of your photos. If that wasn’t satiating enough, you also have the Shakumbhari Devi temple that provides breath-taking views of the sunset.

  • Jaipur

    Jaipur

The Pink City has an abundance of places that are picture-perfect for a pre-wedding shoot. Take for instance the Jawahar Circle which houses buildings at the back that have arched gateways which provide a wonderful pre-wedding shooting location. While Jaipur is renowned for its forts, palaces and bazaars, its lakes are often overlooked. The Man Sagar Lake is a perfect example and is surrounded by the Aravalis hills, all coming together to provide a mesmerizing backdrop. And if you have atypical on your mind for your pre-wedding shoot, there is the Maharani ki Chattriyan with its beautifully designed chatris; another splendid backdrop is Jal Mahal to capture beautiful photos.

  • Jodhpur

    Jodhpur

The mighty Mehrangarh Fort towers over the city of Jodhpur, and should be at the top of your list for a ‘pre-wedding photo shoot of the regal kind’. This architectural spectacle lords over the city’s blue houses stationed in a maze of winding medieval streets – a brilliant backdrop for jaw-dropping photos. And did you ever know Jodhpur too had beautiful lake, the Balsamand Lake on Jodhpur-Mandore Road will compel you to plan a shoot here. While you are here, you might as well visit the Mandore Gardens which are just a few kilometres ahead. The garden, with its rock terraces, has a variety of cenotaphs of the previous rulers of Marwar but a picturesque place.

  • Udaipur

    Udaipur

The Shimmering Lake Pichola in here provides a romantic setting to the “Venice of the East”. The Ambrai Ghat is the spot to be at as it lets you capture both the waters of Lake Pichola as well as the façade of City Palace.Make sure you take some shots at the Jag Mandir as well which is located on island in the middle of the lake. And if you find Lake Pichola too mainstream, there is no dearth of lovely lakes, with Badi Lake and Jaisamand Lake topping the list of picturesque settings for a pre-wedding photo-shoot.
