    There is something enigmatic and thrilling about using a cycle to explore a city. The city streets, pulsating with life, seem more vibrant and the sights and sounds of the city immerse your senses completely. When you utilize a cycle to explore a city, you can’t help but become a part of the city, an insider who is aware of the mysterious ways life moves in the bazaars and the by lanes, privy to city’s secret. Cycling around, you can smell the city and hear the languages spoken in its different neighborhoods. And when it comes to exploring new cultures and ideas on cycle, Rajasthan is the place you should visit. The cities and towns of Rajasthan offers opportunities like no other place to make new discoveries on a bicycle. A wrong turn here would definitely lead to something as awe-inspiring as your original destination! Here are some routes you can follow in different cities of Rajasthan, as you pedal around and explore the culture and rich history of the state.

  • Jaipur

    Jaipur

    The state capital, Jaipur is as majestic as Rajasthan and its colorful streets, with dawdling camels and cycle-rickshaw provide a perfect backdrop as cycle around the city. The city’s splendid monuments are easily accessible by bicycle. Here are some popular routes you can follow: A. Hawa Mahal to Amber Palace – This route will take from Hawa Mahal in the city to the famed Amber Palace. you will pass the serene waters of Man Sagar Lake, providing a glimpse of the famed Jal Mahal(Lake Palace). B. Amber Palace to Nahargarh Fort – From one iconic monument to another, this route will take from twisty to lane coming down from the Amber Palace to the wide avenues of Jaigarh Fort road.     Udaipur

    Surrounded by the wooded Aravalli Hills and home to numerous lakes, Udaipur has been dubbed as “the most romantic spot on the continent of India.” With countless narrow, crooked streets and cul-de-sacs, fantastical palaces and havelis, cycling is perhaps the best way to explore the city. Here are some routes you can follow to experience the city’s colorful bazaar and its magnificent history. A. Hathi pole Bazar to AmbraiGhat – Start from the center of the city and cycle along the turquoise water of Lake Pichola to reach this beautiful ghat. Soak in the view and witness the sun shooting colors everywhere as it sets. B. Monsoon Palace – The Monsoon Palace provides ample opportunity for leisurely ride from its entry gate to top of the hill where the palace stands, looking over the city. Take in the mesmerizing views of the surrounding and whilst enjoying the peace.

    Now mostly associated with the Camel Fair, the town of Pushkar is actually a prominent Hindu pilgrimage center. The life of the town revolves around the holy lake, that is said to have appeared when Brahma dropped lotus flower. Cycling is the best way to explore the 52 bathing ghats and 400 or so temples, the street food and the Bazaar. As cycle around you will often hear the hums of prayers, lot of tourists, delicacies, lot of rajasthani crafts & local music generating a hypnotic soundtrack for your ride. You can also pedal to discover the camels in the sand dunes in Pushkar.

  • Mount Abu

    Mount Abu

    Nestled among the green forest, Mount Abu is Rajasthan’s only hill station. Mount Abu provides respite from the scorching heat of elsewhere. The weather makes it ideal place to be explored on a cycle. You can explore the beautiful ponds and the birds that take refuge here. You can also explore the 80 temples and shrines that hold great spiritual significance for Hindus and Jains. Cycling provides a fascinating opportunityto explore the vivid culture and rich heritage of the Rajasthan. As you will ride around, you will realize the cities here are an intricately connected tapestry of people, bazaarsand lanes, a glorious past, and a vivid present.
