The blacksmiths of Rajasthan are called lohars. The Hindu blacksmiths are divided into broad groups --- gadias and the malwias. Artists at Jaisalmer and Tillonia make animal figures, stands and decorative kitchen ware products. These are done by way of twisting iron wires.

Sigris or anghitis with iron chains, and some of them with wheels are also made to regulate heat in winters. The heat is regulated with the burning coals. Another very interesting product is the nut-cracker with an iron cutting edge. Birds, animals, and amorous couples are the main designs. Ovens which are square or octagonal in shape with parrot or peacock-shaped legs and perforated walls are used to heat temples and homes in winters.
